Lastly, you didn't pay $600 for your room but actually less than $400+ tax on a weekend night. All our rooms have k-cup coffeemakers with free coffee. it clearly states in the first paragraph on our home page "The Inn offers Complimentary hot breakfast. In addition, you booked on our website you chose your room and location in our Bulfinch House. unless you choose to invite additional guests for breakfast which costs $20 per person + tax. You obviously didn't read the letter carefully as it indicates our excellent hot breakfast is included with your stay. At check-in you were provided a welcome letter that indicates we offer free breakfast to our hotel guests as well as coffeemakers in the rooms. Thank you for staying with us, but I do have to say this review is absolutely inaccurate. The best part was the grounds where we sat in the sun and gazed at the sea for hours. I had a tough time getting to our room, but it was totally worth it! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Along those lines, be aware that the rooms all (I think) require climbing a lot of stairs. There were only a handful of spots, and none were specified for handicap guests (like me). Parking was okay for us, although if the inn had been crowded I can see where it would be a problem. I do wish they had coffee and tea available to guests during the day, but there is a Keurig in the room. The chef went out of his way to make me gluten-free pancakes, and the other morning I had a delicious omelet. Breakfast was included with our room (I don't understand the complaints of others saying it was an additional $20.), and Claire our server was delightful. We heard that they are doing a big remodel this winter, so probably those things will be rectified. Everything was nice and clean, although the carpet had a lot of stains and wear/tear and the furniture is pretty beat up (but perfectly functional). The room is nice and big with a king and twin bed, large closet and bathroom with shower (no tub). Stayed in the Sovereign of the Seas room which has a private balcony and stunning views. Guests can sit and relax on our oceanfront patio or spend a quiet moment in the oceanfront gazebo, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the town of Rockport. Spacious, manicured grounds and flowered gardens surround this great Rockport inn. In 2012, the Inn won the Editor's choice award for Best Bed and Breakfast on the North Shore Magazine August 2012 Best of Issue. The Yankee Clipper Inn continues to be an award-winning establishment. Arrington's Bed and Breakfast Journal has voted the Yankee Clipper Inn as "The best inn on the eastern seaboard," "One of the best inns in the country," and "Most panoramic ocean views." Boston Magazine named the Yankee Clipper Inn "Best Nearby Escape." The inn has been featured in Country Living Magazine and on The Country Inns television program. The Yankee Clipper Inn has won countless awards over the years. Famous celebrities such as JFK, John Lennon, Paul Newman, Bette Davis, and countless others have been guests at our Inn. Most of the guest rooms provide spectacular ocean views. There are 26 guest rooms, 9 in the main Inn, 10 rooms in our picturesque Quarterdeck House, and 7 rooms in our historic Bulfinch House across the street from the main Inn. The inn is conveniently located 35 miles north of Boston. The Yankee Clipper Inn is a 1929 art deco mansion that sits on a rocky bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Rockport, MA.
